George G, Crane

George G. Crane was born in Taunton in June 16,1838, the son of John P. and Dolly (Godfrey) Crane. His marriage certificate lists him as a teacher in 1859. He is listed as an artist in the 1860 United States Census living with his parents in Taunton. He first appears as an ambrotypist in the 1861 Taunton City Directory. By 1872 he was working as an engraver for Reed and Barton. In the early 1900s he produced real picture post cards of Taunton. He died August 6, 1918
