Lewis Frederick Ridley         

Lewis F. Ridley was born on November 27, 1875 in Fall River. He was appointed to the Taunton Police Department circa 1907. He was appointed chief on January 6, 1936 during a mayoral administration and then reverted back to a patrolman, retiring on July 27, 1945. He died in Taunton on November 1, 1961.
