Edward Henry Menard         

Edward H. Menard was born on October 23, 1923 in Taunton and died January 4, 2010 in Taunton. He was appointed as a reserve officer on October 26, 1954, and patrolman on December 9, 1956. He retired on October 6, 1966.

Obituary - 

Edward H. Menard, 86 years old, died at his home on Monday morning, Jan. 4, 2010 following a period of failing health. Born in Taunton, son of the late Henry and Helen (Rec) Menard. He was a graduate of Taunton schools. He was awarded the Silver Star for combat during WWII with the US Army. He was a retired patrolman with the Taunton police department. Edward was a communicant of Holy Rosary Church. He was the widow of Katherine (Berry) Menard who died in 2003. He is survived by a son, Edward H. Menard, Jr. and two daughters, Janice Bolton and Kathleen Cyr, all of Taunton. He is the grandfather of Fred Bolton of North Dighton and Kami Cyr of Taunton. Edward is the brother of Henrietta Duarte, Bertha Florence, Helen Correia and Lawrence Menard, all of Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Rosary Church on Thursday, Jan. 7 at 9:30 a.m. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
